Spiritual Violence, Pt. 2

Jesus is calling for spiritual amputation, for radical spiritual violence against anything, anyone, any part of a person’s life, whether a relationship, a job, an activity, a sport, an entertainment, friends, one’s life pursuit, etc. Like amputation, this spiritual violent act will never be forgotten, not easy, not painless, it is costly, deep, permanent, and life changing.
Motivations—Reasons

1. Because Christ calls you to this (“But I say…” v. 28).
2. Because your relationship to sin has changed.
3. Because Christ offers LIFE to you.
4. Because Christ warns you of HELL.
5. Because your decisions are eternally consequential.
