Jesus Coming to Reign and Judge

In our study of the Nicene Creed the next portion continues to elaborate on our Lord Jesus Christ. It states: "He will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will never end." The first great truth here is that Jesus will come again in glory - Christ himself predicted his Return, as did the angels and the apostles. Jesus predicted that he would rise from the dead and he did. Thus his prediction of his second coming is also assured. The second great truth is that Jesus, though he has already been crowned with glory and honor, will come to reign visibly before all creation as King to rule and reign. And thirdly, he will come to sit as Judge over the lives of all people - the God-man who had lived our humanity - so that no one can charge God with being too high and aloof to understand the power of our temptations and heartaches of our sufferings.
