A History of the 1646 London Baptist Confession

Doctrinal division and Civil War marked the atmosphere when the 1644/46 London Baptist Confession was penned. Originally written as a defense against charges of fanaticism it is warmly embraced by some today because of it's focus on the New Covenant teachings as the Christians ethical standard, rather than the Old Covenant Law. This message also gives a history of Baptists and their defense of religious liberty; as well as a contrast with the 1689 London Baptist Confession and the Westminster Confession of Faith.
