Four Proofs of the Utter Severity of God's Holy Law – First Word in Evangelism

We need some serious preaching of God's Holy Law in our days! Most contemporary preachers have decided that we have nothing to do with the Law, and thus they never preach it — especially is this true of those who are designated as "evangelists."

But ROLFE BARNARD was of a different order. In the spirit of the old Puritans he upheld God's authority and demanded that men bow to the commandments of a Just and Holy God before ever he would offer them any mercy. As Barnard somewhere expressed it, "I will preach the Gospel but only in its proper order. First comes the Law to break the sinner's confidence and bring him down at the footstool of God's mercy. Then the Gospel is precious GOOD NEWS!" Amen.
