The State of the Disunion
Series Ephesians
As Paul continued his letter, we come to chapter 2. Paul desires for there to be unity in the church. Throughout the centuries, there were problems between the Jew and the Gentile. There was a barrier which stood firm between the two. However, Paul wrote this letter in part to describe the design of the church. The church has been God’s idea from eternity past. He has designed the church to be a place where all barriers can be torn down between Jew and Gentile, rich and poor, educated and uneducated, old and young. Jesus Christ came to reconcile all things unto Him. In the verse three verses, we are reminded of who we were before we sought Christ for salvation. We all need reminders from time to time. Have you ever heard the statement—“Don’t forget your roots?” Maybe you have heard, “Don’t forget where you came from?” The message today is going to be such a reminder. In Adam, all die. Because of our origin, we were dead in trespasses and sins. However, in Christ Jesus, all can be made alive. Let’s take a look at the State of the Disunion.
