5. Wisdom & Covenant

Ministry School 2008: We may see the security provided for all things through the existence of the primal eternal covenant and the provision of subsequent covenants within salvation history. Our distrust of God turns his covenant into a bilateral contract, whereby we attempt to keep hold on God and excuse our own infidelities. But when the fulness of God's covenantal faithfulness is revealed to us, we see that the covenants are not some extra that are given but are substantial expressions of God's whole being and purpose, his wisdom in its rich variety.
