Who Can This Be?

As in the Jonah story, the disciples are terrified by the ferocity of the storm. The captain of Jonah's ship upbraids Jonah for sleeping while the crew is perishing; likewise, the disciples reproach Jesus, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown." The scene depicts Jesus' complete trust in the Father in the midst of adversity and the disciples' lack of trust in Jesus in the midst of adversity.
