Daniel's Resolve

The three-fold use of the Hebrew verb natan in the first chapter of Daniel taught God's
Old Testament Church that even though it was God who gave them into
Nebuchadnezzar's hand (vs.2), yet this does not mean that He has abandoned them.
Instead, even in captivity, the Lord gives His people favor (vs. 9) and learning and
understanding (vs. 17) so that they would not just survive their time of exile but would
also thrive. Our faithful God continues to guide His New Testament Church in this
same way today.
