Depression and the Believer Part 35 - Refusing Comfort

Depression is a matter of what we think in our minds. God's Word tells us to watch over our hearts with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life. This tells us that how we think establishes our life in one way or another. A renewed mind is a mind that is centered in the truth of God's Word. It is this truth in the innermost being that God desires and that gives us true joy as we are encouraged by what is true and protected from what is false. The great lie of the world, the flesh, and the Devil is that by seeking my own will I will be happy. As those who have been born again through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are still subject to the ravages of the death of our loved ones. It is clear from Scripture and experience that we are all going to face physical death unless the Lord returns first. How are we to deal with this most wrenching trauma? How are we to handle these things in a way that brings glory to our Lord? This is a study of the accounts in Scripture when saints refused to be comforted in their grief.
