Identifying Christ

Aim: To understand how important it is that we know who Jesus is.

Exegesis: False identification of Jesus leads to death. Will we think like the world (v. 27)? Many misunderstand the Savior to be God's forerunner (v. 28a), avenger (v. 28b), or messenger (v. 28c). True identification of Jesus leads to ife. Will we think like the redeemed (v. 29a), confessing Jesus to be God's Messiah (v. 29b) and obeying Jesus as God's Messiah (v. 30)?
