Gospel Presented in the OT Part 13

God has wonderfully revealed the truth of the Gospel in many places and in numerous ways in the Old Testament. When Israel sinned against the Lord, He sent fiery serpents among them and many of them perished. Their request to Moses was that he petition the Lord to remove the serpents from the camp. However the Lord did not do this. Instead, He provided that people be cured after they were bitten, by looking at a brazen serpent that Moses affixed to a pole and lifted up for all to see. Jesus Christ referred to this raising up of the brazen serpent by Moses as a picture of how He would be lifted up for our sins on the cross.
