Then Comes the End

The end that Paul is talking about in this passage is when the last enemy has been destroyed or defeated. It is only when the last enemy is destroyed that Christ hands the kingdom to the Father. The last enemy is death and death is destroyed when Christ's brethren rise from the dead. And Christ's brethren rise from the dead when He returns. There is no second coming of Christ and there is no resurrection from the dead until every other enemy has been subdued. When every other enemy has been subdued, then the last enemy will be subdued--the resurrection from the dead is the subduing of the last enemy.
