Series Spiritual Gifts in Romans 12
Sermon: THE CHRISTIAN SACRIFICE: EXHORTATION Part 1
In these verse verses of Romans 12 I've become convinced that the Apostle Paul is setting before the Church the Christian ethic.
He sets down principles that are practical
directions for how we as believers are to live. They are therefore important and worthy of our due attention. They pretty well set the stage for the conduct of God’s people as they are a part of
Christ’s Church.
The Christian’s Sacrifice is really just the proper and fitting response (we might say our calling) of service that is how we should respond to the God’s Amazing Grace. We are to be and live as "living sacrifices."
In our present Study (which will actually include two sermons) considers the gift of EXHORTATION. While this can refer to teaching or preaching, I think the context requires that we understand it more as comfort or consolation... or perhaps even counseling.
I. The Explanation of Exhortation
II. The Direction of Exhortation
III. The Practice of Exhortation
