Lawlessness is Iniquity

In 2 Thessalonians 2:6-12, Paul pulls the curtain back on what he calls the "mystery of iniquity." Among other things, he notes that this iniquity is born of lawlessness and when he speaks of lawlessness, he is referring to God's moral code (laws), not society's laws, though it includes that as well.

Ultimately, Paul is pointing to the fact that the coming man of sin, will be revealed by the groundswell and unbridled "mystery of iniquity" that will make his political debut on the world's stage acceptable by the masses.
