Death and Life in Regeneration
Series Romans 6
A model of ministry has been developed in the church that attempts to build points of relationship with unsaved people. The over all effect has been communicate that the Christian isn't different from the non Christian except that they have been forgiven and found the place of meaning and significance for their lives. But is that really true? The regenerate person is someone who has been radically changed from what they once were. At the new birth something of their past selves died and someone new was born. It is that change that the world needs to learn about and they can't if what we are saying to them is, "We are just like you." And there is a new life to be lived out by the Christian and they can't live it if week in and week out the only difference they are offered is that they are forgiven and others are not.
