What, Why, Who of Baptism 2

He is running down the road blowing his vuvuzela--obviously ecstatic! Curious, you intercept the man and ask him, "Why are you so happy?" You are certainly surprised when he stops, gasping for breath, and says, "I don't know! I'm just celebrating because everyone else is!"

In order to experience joy as a Christian, you must at least know why you are celebrating. Today, we continue with the issue of baptism. This is one of the truths upon which a true believer's joy is based.

Just because many have tussled over this truth, doesn't mean it is not important to understand. The Bible's teaching on baptism brings joy because it is so vitally based on and connected to the Gospel. It makes us humble to see that baptism is an outward display of what God has done for us through Christ. This is a source of huge, lasting, unassailable, authentic joy.

Last time we considered the "what" and "why" of baptism. This time we consider the "who".
