The Difference Between God and Man
Series Series in Mark
Aim: To abhor ourselves; and to honor God.
Exegesis: The ways of man are sinful. We seek to make ourselves just (v. 13), honorable (v. 14a), and wise (vv. 14b-15a). The ways of God are holy. Christ knows our sinful hearts (v. 15b) and motives (vv. 15c-16a); Christ is our sin's salvation (vv. 16b-17).
Key verse: v. 17 ''And Jesus answered and said to them, 'Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.' And they marveled at Him.''
