Yahweh Delivers His People

Psalm 118 celebrates the LORD'S ability to deliver his people: past, present, and future. The Psalm opens and closes declaring Yahweh's steadfast love. Verses 22 & 26 are quoted numerous times in the NT in reference to Christ. This Psalm assures us that God's love endures forever, even in troubled times or when we endure his acts of discipline. Yahweh is the one we are to fear - not those who hate us. Christ himself was surrounded by enemies yet he rose from the dead and entered heaven - he was delivered and God's steadfast love will deliver us.
