Philosophical Foundations and Implications of Evolution
Series Creationism and Evolutionism
The mid-nineteenth century went through a Carolinian Revolution under the three Charles or Karls: Lyle, Darwin, and Marx.
This revolution overthrew the foundation of Christian civilization, but the outworking of that revolution did not become apparent until after World War I in Europe and until well after World War II in the United States.
Charles Darwin's title until his sixth edition says it all: "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life."
