Taming the Tongue

Encouragement is needed for our walk of faith. Many Christians are “dying on the vine” for lack of encouragement from other believers. We have a Christian duty to encourage one another. Many times a word of praise or thanks or appreciation or cheer has kept a person on his or her feet. Blessed is the person who speaks such a word. “But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness,” Hebrews 3:13 tells us. “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen” (Ephesians 4:29).
