Our Federal Heads

The sermon focuses upon three things in these verses: 1) What is the source of our authority? 2) Since it was mankind who messed things up in the Garden of Eden, God's justice requires man to fix the problem, that is, man has to pay the penalty for his disobedience and then man has to complete the probation and live a perfect life of obedience to God's every word. 3) We are introduced to the glorious truth of 'representation' or federal headship. While the unbeliever despises the idea that he is guilty before God because of the sin of Adam, in reality, it is only because of the principle of federal headship that eternal life for us can be a assured. Thus, federal headship is a glorious manifestation of God's wisdom and mercy.
