Built on Solid Rock

Paul wrote to the Corinthians to warn them of two essential deffects that also afflict many churches today:

1)The Wrong Foundation - Either they aren't founded on the Gospel of Christ Crucified for Sinners, and thus aren't really even churches

or

2)The Wrong Building Materials - Having been built on the foundation of Jesus Christ, they are being built up with materials inferior to the message of the gospel. Whether this material consists of signs and wonders, entertainment, or therapy, it may be successful in drawing men in, but it will ultimately be judged worthless as it has no power to save or to build men up in the Grace and Knowledge of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
