Serving God's Church: Elders, Deacons, Members, Pt. 3

God has given elders to serve His church by shepherding the flock. They are to serve willingly, not for shameful gain, and to lead by example. The ministry of deacons is a separate office. Deacons are men who are both spiritually and practically qualified. Deacons must be men of godly character who are to serve practically in specific ministry capacities, who protect and promote church unity, and who serve and support the elders. As elders and deacons both serve Biblically, the gospel goes forth and disciples increase.
