Psalm 18.1-16

A Song of Salvation

I. Three thing purposed (verses 1-3)

A. Purposed love: 'I will love thee, O LORD, my strength'. (1 John 4.19, 9-10, 1 John 4.16-18.

B. Purposed faith: 'my strength, in whom I will trust'. (18.2) (Psalm 46.1-2).

C. Purposed prayer: 'I will call upon the LORD' (18.3)(Matthew 8.25).

II. Four things painful (verses 4-5)

A. Here are four ultimate extremities.

B. We must note the impact upon David's soul.

C. Let us be mindful that our case is hopeless without Christ.
