An Immortal at Malta
Series The Book of Acts
In this sermon we see God's providential provision for the Apostle Paul. In at least five distinct ways Paul's life is preserved. He is preserved in the open sea, preserved from summary execution at the hands of the Romans, preserved during the wreckage of the ship, preserved from the elements and cold and preserved in spite of being struck by a snake. This passage gives us confidence that God's people are 'immortal upon the earth until God's purpose for us is complete'. This does not make us careless with our lives, but rather confident to obey God without fear that anything can befall us except that which God allows.
