Qualified Apostles Today?

Jesus chose twelve men to be apostles. Yet, just because Jesus chose them for this elevated privilege, doesn't mean they were elevated people. They were not men of extraordinary skill or birth or motive. In fact, it seems the opposite was true. Their salvation and calling were clearly an act of the Spirit of God. This is not the way modern "apostles" present themselves. They claim extraordinary personal skill and gifting. They are not only different in this way, but they also lack other qualifying features that would identify them as true apostles. They are fake apostles. We could also consider the future to which Jesus' apostles were called. There is no place within that future for more apostles. As far as their actual ministry was concerned, it was the evidence of God in their lives and ministry. No-one today can claim to be speaking new revelation from God. The biblical framework in which the apostles functioned has no place for modern apostles.
