The Religion of Scientology

What is the religion of Scientology and what does it believe? Founded by L. Ron Hubbard in the 1950s, Scientology posits that we are all thetans -- souls that inhabit bodies. We have lived for millions of years and have been reincarnated time and time again. Throughout all these reincarnations, we have accumulated many bad experiences, called engrams. For us to live happy and empowered lives, these engrams have to be removed from us through a process known as auditing. This is just the tip of the iceberg of this strange religion.
