The Blessed Condemnation!

There are two important gospel truths found in (v.3)…

1st – There Is Something The Law Couldn't Do – the law is:

•     GOOD—but it can't make any of us good…
  

•     JUST—but it can't justify… Romans 3:20
  

•     HOLY—to show us our sins—but it can't save us from our sins…
  

2nd – God Did what The Law Could Not Do

(1st) GOD SENT HIS OWN SON – ‘in the likeness of sinful flesh' – Jesus came into this world as a real man—with a real human body and a real human soul… but with one very important distinction—he was sinless – 1 John 3:5

(2nd) GOD CONDEMNED SIN – When God condemned sin—He destroyed the enslaving and damning power of sin for all those who are “in Christ.”

(3rd) HE CONDEMNED SIN IN THE FLESH – that is, God passed judgment and carried out that judgment—on the human nature of the Lord Jesus – 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:24
