Paul: "I obtained mercy … grace was exceedingly abundant" 1 Timothy 1:12-15
Saul experienced a dramatic conversion. He was confronted by the very Jesus he was persecuting, (Acts 9:3–9; 22:6–11; 26:12–18; Galatians 1:12). Set apart before he was born, it now pleased God, to transform Saul to became the apostle Paul, (Acts 13:9), the committed missionary to a Gentile world, (Galatians 1:15-16), as he bowed his knee to the lordship of Christ. His inspired writings were to form a large portion of the New Testament. We can set out his story in three chapters. He was the highest of legalists, the chief of sinners, but by the mercy and grace of God became the greatest of apostles.
