The God of New Beginnings | Samson

Samson: "Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God," Judges 16:22-28

Samson was the last of the Judges. He judged Israel for twenty years and is mentioned among the heroes of faith in Hebrews 11:32. He was mighty when the Holy Spirit would come upon him at times. Through selfishness, disobedience, prayerlessness and sexual indulgence the Lord departed from him. Blinded and used for sport, the God of new beginnings strengthened him again when he cried out to Him. He lost his life but at the end delivered the nation from the Philistines.
