The God of New Beginnings | Cain

Cain: "If you do well, will you not be accepted?" Genesis 4:1-15

God had revealed that there was a way for fallen sinners to be accepted as they came to worship Him – the death of a substitute, cf. Genesis 3:21 "The LORD God made coats of skin and clothed them." Abel demonstrated his faith in bringing a spotless lamb recognising his guilt and depending upon the death of another from acceptance, (Hebrews 11:4). Cain brought the best of his crop. God in His mercy and longsuffering gave him the opportunity to begin again, to come as He had ordained. Many have gone in the way of Cain, (Jude 11).
