Obsolete
Series Hebrews
The oldness of the old covenant is the planned obsolescence of God's purpose being displayed. It has not worn out by mere age, for the New Covenant has continued longer than the old, did and it is still fresh and new. It was worn out by its accomplished purpose. It did what it was meant to do and so has been forever put aside. It will NOT be resumed, taken back up or added back in in some partial measure. To do so would be a abrogate the sacrifice made by Jesus for the redemption of His people. The OT law and system of sacrifice is gone forever, and the church should celebrate this fact. For in it, is our hope and joy… the completion of that system by the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
