A Desperate Cry For A Mediator - Part 13d
Series Trusting in God's Sovereignty
Job's continued response to Bildad in acknowledging: I. God's Sovereignty & Justice in Chapter 9; proceeding to chapter 10: II. Job's Unwavering Commitment & His Entreaty of God; Job seeks for understanding, concerning God's dealing with him. Therefore; in his anguish (1), He makes his plea (2). Job pleads for reassurance, that the Lord would not condemn him. He resolved to make his case and not hid the gravity of pain and discomfort he feels, because, he loathed his life. He regarded himself as one, though living, he was dead. In his reasoning and rationale (3–6); Job raised rhetorical inquiries – on God's justice (3); on His handiwork (3b); on His judicial wisdom and God's uncommonness (4 -6), because God is omniscient, and his eyes are not like man (4). God, in His eternal nature, transcends mortal time (days and years – v5) and God His Sovereignty, is not limited in wisdom and not vengeful against Job (6). To this end, Job expressed his confidence in God's omniscience (7a), in that, job knows that God is cognizant of his innocence.
