Profession of faith in adults requisite in order to receive the sign of the covenant under both the old and new testaments - The distinction between Abraham's seed and servants compared with NT believers' spouses and children.

Union with the Saviour who died and rose again v12. The mode of baptism is not taught here but rather union with Christ which baptism signifies.
This union entails the new birth and justification v13. Cleansing from the power and guilt of sin.

Your baptism declares either a forgiveness you have or a forgiveness you still need.
