The Presbytery

The New Testament sets the worship of the church into the context of the church's life, and in that connection, lays down the structure and manner of the church's government. It is for the purpose of guarding the church against the incursions of heretics and the devastation of scandal. Clearly, the First Century church was Presbyterian in its government.
