Earth's Shocking End

The inspired Apostle makes it plain in this text that he is not shaken at all by the attitudes of the scoffers. He knows that Christ will come, and that for the scoffers, His coming will be like that of a thief in the night. They will be unprepared for it and so will be like those outside the ark when the Great Flood came on the world. The Green movement aside, this text of Scripture makes it plain that the Earth and everything in it will be obliterated by fire on the day of the Lord.
