Jesus Came for Sinners

Don't you hate it when people lie to you? You know there is such a thing as truth. Here Paul tells you of "a trustworthy statement." You can trust Paul. He, by the Spirit, tells you the truth concerning the person of Jesus: he came into the world. The incarnate Son of God came to this world, this sin-plagued death-cursed world. Here is the truth concerning the purpose of Jesus: to save sinners. Not to be a mere teacher or example, but, by His life & death, to pay the penalty of sin. Paul knows. He was a flagrant sinner & yet Christ saved him. Are you a sinner? Paul calls for your personal acceptance of the truth: Jesus. Perhaps you are cynical. You've been lied to so much. But there is truth. Truth that you should believe. Jesus came for sinners!
