Affliction for the Glory of God

The second letter to the Thessalonians find the believers there still suffering persecution. Paul encourages their endurance once again, this time pointing out the role that persecution by the unjust towards the just plays in the universal tribunal God has planned for all mankind. Their persecution of good and loving believers displays all the more God's righteousness in condemning them to eternal destruction. God will judge. Vengeance is His. And the role of believers is to suffer faithfully and in all goodness towards others.
