In Everything Give Thanks
Series Living In Our Father's House
Gratitude is an expression that is expected after an act of kindness. In Thessalonians 5:18 we are commanded "in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus". Look at God and at what He has done and you will have reasons to give thanks in everything. Paul is not asking anyone to assume a stoic posture before life's tragic and upsetting events... "in everything give thanks" is not the action, but the disposition of one who knows God and understands what He has done.
