The Armour of God: The Helmet of Salvation

Salvation has a present aspect – you can and should know it now! It has a continual ongoing experience – Paul spoke to the Corinthians of "those who are being saved" (2 Corinthians 2:15). He will not abandon you halfway to glory! He is Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever, the Lord who is our helper, (Hebrews 13:5-6). It has a final accomplishment. He will save us fully. Our bodies will be changed when He returns and we will be made like our Lord. When Paul encourages the Christian soldier to put on the "helmet of salvation" we need to remember that protecting the head is very important in any hand-to-hand conflict. Paul desires God's people to clearly grasp the certainty of their salvation and not allow themselves to be shaken by unbelief or doubt. In Ephesians 1:4-14 Paul sets out what we must grasp in our heads about our salvation. We were Chosen by the Father: Redeemed By the Son: we are Included in God's Eternal Plan, sealed with the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee the pledge that we will one day fully enter into all that God has determined for us in the future. et. You need to grasp these great truths in your mind. Then you will be able to withstand the devil and continue to stand.
