David's Prayer of Thanksgiving

After receiving the prophet Nathan's message from God that he would always have a descendent on his throne, David launches into a prayer in which he is overwhelmed by the graciousness of God to him, his family, and the entire human race. He also acknowledges the supremacy of the will of God and the intervention of God in human history in behalf of his people. David's great desire is for Yahweh's name to be made great, Finally, he petitions and has confidence that the LORD God will indeed fulfill his promise to build David a never ending house through his descendants. We, too, can pray with confidence for God to fulfill other promises in the Word, as well as replicate in our own prayers the above characteristics of David's prayer.
