The Fear of You and the Dread of You

God changed some things after the flood concerning the relationship between man and the other living creatures. It was to make more clear to the minds of men what the situation is between God and sinful men. We can see by the way the animals fear and dread us a clear picture of how sinful men fear and dread God, even though his intentions toward them are benevolent and kind.
