Gospels - The Beatitudes

Jesus starts out the sermon on the mount with nine blessings that are very objective rather than subjective thoughts. Indeed, all of these blessings can and will happen as a result of being dependent on God rather than self, religion, or any other man-made idea. His introduction to the sermon centers on one primary thought--my teaching is about surrender to God. Everything He teaches finds its roots in dependence, which is the root of every blessing.
