Lest You Forget the Gospel

The Church almost completely forgets YHWH and His covenant promises, but God does not forget His covenant promises to His church. The gates of hell almost prevail, but God is good to His people and grace triumphs over sin. Because of God's covenant memory, his omnipotent power and amazing grace, the gates of hell will never prevail against the Church! No matter how much the Church has spiritually declined, the Lord God is merciful to grant mercy and forgiveness to the repentant sinner! Our text this morning reveals to us that God is the Victor in Jesus Christ, that grace triumphs over sin, death, and the devil, and that we become more than overcomers through Him who loved us!
