Guardians Of The Gates

Father's Day is a celebration of men, real men, the kind of men God created Adam to be. In the Bible, there is no confusion about what a man is and what his role is. Adam was the prototype and role model for all men that would come after him. To be a man is to be like Adam. As Adam was, so are men today. Nothing has changed in God's creation. And clarity of what a man is was made more clear when God made Eve. She was distinguished from being a man by being called a woman. Eve was called a woman because she was not a man. She was made from Adam, and she shares many traits of Adam, but she was not a man. She was a woman.
The walls of our culture, of God's creation, of the Biblical worldview are being torn down. It is not the first time to happen. But it is happening again during our lifetime. It is happening on our watch. In Nehemiah's day, the walls of Jerusalem were in need of repair. The men got to work with a trowel in one hand and a spear in the other. Building, rebuilding, and defending our homes, our families, our churches, and our communities is an important role God has given to us as men. With this vision in focus and a commitment to fulfill our God-given roles, men of God can bring clarity and protection to our families. And this we must do.
