if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
-MacArthur writes, ‘this is not just a simple acknowledgement that He is God and the Lord of the universe, since even the demons in hell acknowledge this to be true (James 2:19). This is a deep personal conviction, without reservation, that Jesus Christ is one’s Lord and own personal Master and Sovereign.and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
-To believe in your heart; is to trust in and rely upon: 1. That He is the Son of God, 2. That He died for your sins, 3. That He rose again from the dead and is alive forevermore.For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
-In submitting unto Him as Lord, you submit unto in all things. Believing in your heart and trusting upon Him alone for righteousness. For He is the Righteousness of God. This brings about this brings about a deep-rooted conviction of sin and self-righteousness that results in repentance. Turning to God from sin, even for your righteousness.with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
-This is an act of faith and repentance, after regeneration.
