Exposition of Romans - Part 66

Exposition of Romans - Part-66 (Romans 10:2-4).

This sermon/lesson was delivered at the Princess Chapel Church in Ashland, KY by Pastor Douglas Salyer, the Exposition from Romans as part of the Expository Bible Study, verse by verse through the Book of Romans. This lesson, Part-66, from Romans chapter 10.

The text used was taken from Romans 10:2-4. The Apostle Paul deals with some of the major problems within many churches today.

Romans 10:2-4

2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Emotion and enthusiasm, even sincerity, but it is not according to knowledge, it is not proper doctrine. Because of this ignorance, they go about to establish their own righteousness, not having submitted themselves unto the Righteousness of God which is Jesus Christ.

This was not just a problem with the Jews in the time Paul was writing this letter to the Church at Rome. However, this issue is prevalent in our Churches of today. (Religion - self-righteousness) because of ignorance, they do not submit to His Righteousness, because they know not His Righteousness.

May God have mercy upon our people, and the men that preach works and Law and not Grace and justification by faith alone.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
