Strength from the Mouths of Babes and Sucklings

Christ's entry into Jerusalem upon a lowly colt signified that He would bring salvation, not by might or power, but in lowliness at Calvary.

The common people and children shouted His praise, just as Zechariah had foretold. They rejoiced in His bringing salvation.

It was necessary that simple people praise and testify of Messiah, because their words are integral to the manifestation of the power of the King.

First off, it was amazing that little children knew more of the truth about Him than the religous leaders. Indeed, Christ validated the content of their praise.

It may seem strange that God promised to "perfect praise" and "ordain strength" from the mouths of weak and dishonorable persons - which would shut down God's enemies!

The words of strength on the lips of babes and sucklings is none other than the truth about Jesus and His Gospel! Christ saved us in lowliness, and His power to save is told by lowly and weak persons, but on their lips it is power and strength!

Christ rejoiced that His Gospel was revealed unto babes. No wonder He rebuked His disciples for turning away the children!

Salvation is only offered to the weak and helpless, those who know they cannot save themselves. That is why babes and sucklings are most suited to proclaim Christ's Gospel!

The foolishness of preaching is God's ordained method of bringing salvation to the hearts of sinners. That Gospel preached is the power of God unto salvation to those who believe!

In the end, God's people overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony!

The Gospel on our lips is God's strength unto Salvation! How honored are we to proclaim it!
