Hints of the Trinity in Creation

Indications of plurality within the being of God are observable in the creation account such as the plural name of God, "Elohim," the explicit mention of the Spirit, the fact that God speaks, the use of the plural pronoun in verse 26, and the creation of male and female in the image of God. Although the Trinity is not explicit, the revelation presented lays the groundwork for and can be well fitted into the fuller revelation in the New Testament of the triune nature of the one God, who is eternally existent as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
