Not Guilty
Series Gospel of Luke
This passage makes it clear that Jesus was "not guilty." Three times Pilate declares it. Herod declares it and Pilate's wife declares it. Those are 3 witnesses the Old Testament required. But Jesus was delivered up by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God and put to death by the hands of wicked men (Acts 2:23). What is there in this passage for believers? Those who know Jesus is not guilty and who know Him? It is important to keep in mind that Jesus was not really the one who was on trial. Pilate was; Herod was and so were the Jews. Someday, they will all stand before Judge Jesus. Someday, believers too will be judged by Jesus (2 Cor. 5:10). Are we ready?
